BETH EL NER TAMID BOARD OF TRUSTEES
MAY 12, 2010
The May 12 meeting of the Beth El Ner
Tamid Board of Trustees was called to order at 7:30 p.m. by
President Al Simon. Patricia Chamoy, Jane Chester, David Kazilsky,
Nancy Kellman, Alan Marcuvitz, Fred Meyer, Robert Peterman, Neal
Plotkin, Al Simon, Rodney Ugent, and Ilene Wasserman were present.
Barbara Abrams, Melanie Bandos, Harvey Kaufman, Robert Rudman, and
Deanna Spanjar were excused.
TREASURER’S
REPORT: Jane Chester discussed the deficit and compared last
years and this years budget.
MEN’S CLUB:
Rodney Ugent reported on a successful Mother’s Day brunch and the
upcoming Men’s Club installation dinner.
FUNDRAISING:
Bob Peterman reported on a meeting he had with Pat Chamoy
regarding different fundraising ideas. A Goods and Services auction
was discussed as well as holding a raffle and other fundraising
ideas.
ARCHITECTURE:
Alan Marcuvitz discussed the current state of our building and
presented ideas including subleasing, sale and other
income-producing ideas. A committee will be formed to investigate
the impact of selling the building.
REDUCTION OF
COMMUNITY EDUCATIONAL STAFF: The Educators at Congregation
Sinai, Emanu El B’ne Jeshurun, and Sinai are all leaving at the end
of this fiscal year. Every Jewish organization is under pressure.
NOMINATING
COMMITTEE; The board discussed vacancies due to board members
expiring terms.
Leo Weinshel was
invited to the meeting and spoke about several complaints he had
received from members of the congregation.
